I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's bout.
Former two-time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
